Great family place. Lots to do and see. Close to Grand Bend tourist area. Too many mosquitoes at night... Want to walk and see the stars by the beach or watch a movie at the outside theatre but my husband and I and 2 boys were covered head to toe in mosquito bites... Ruined the next 2 days for us. Everyone was itchy, sleepless and moody. bring bug repellent or don't go outside at night. Good food, nice rooms, comfortable decent beds. Good service and friendly staff. Has a very camping/lodge feel. Was nice. Beach was nice and clean.

Very beautiful grounds. Room is average. The pool is nice (not as nice as the professional photos used for advertising) and can get quite crowded with children. Sauna and jacuzzi were enjoyable. No meals are included and breakfast/dinner buffets are quite pricey (16.95 for breakfast and 25 for dinner). There are affordable activities in the winter such as winter golf, and snowshoeing (5 dollars per hour). All in all had a great time at oakwood resort.

My wife and I just returned home from a beautiful weekend at the Oakwood Resort and Spa. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. When we arrive we were greeted by very friendly staff member Mackenzie at the registration desk. He made sure we were aware of where everything was located and that we were set to enjoy our stay. We purchased the couples spa package. Our spa experience was excellent !!! Very professional friendly staff greeted us and made us feel very welcome and appreciated for choosing the spa. Our couples massage was amazing!! Next we both enjoyed a pedicure and once again very pleased with their great professional personality. For dinner we ate at Dave’s pub on the grounds. There is a nice restaurant for finer dining but it was not open. The pub was classy and food choices were amazing so we were very pleased anyways. Food was excellent our waitress Sarah was amazing and they even had a live singer to entertain the customers. Our room was a king deluxe. Very clean spacious and very comfortable bed. Yes aged a bit but it still goes with the northern outdoor view. When we checked out we were handed a detailed invoice and all was shown on there including tips at the spa. We enjoyed our stay so much we may take the 2hr drive even just to enjoy the spa and restaurants. Sorry to have read the negative comments some might have left and glad we went by the good ones like ours. We were lucky to have snow on the ground to add even more beauty to our late winter experience. I give a 4 star not 5 and the only reason was the hot tub was not working and the room was a bit aged. I felt with the couples spa package we should of got some compensation with the hot tub not working. We were looking forward to it before going to bed. Vince & Jo Masse

The resort is good for families or young people. Close walk to the beach or into town. Reasonably nice golf course and it is inexpensive as well.

Great place to stay but it greatly needs and update in the rooms. The pool is better than the usual pool that you would find in a normal hotel which is what attracted us.
