Listen, do NOT send your children here. They will be on Meth in no time. The program is absolutely terrible. There is no accountability for the children. They all end up dropping out of school, turn to Meth, or depending on alcohol like the Natives. The program is to keep Natives....dependent on the system and alcohol. If your kids aren't on drugs, they will be within 7 days of their stay. Do NOT trust these people with your kids.

This facility needs to be more lenient towards the youth in the understanding that growing up and transitioning from teen to adult is a process and should be respected as such. Here, that process is taken for granted. In the months I have been here I have seen countless amounts of youth kicked out into the coldness of the street over insignificant reasons. The rules are so strict it feels like Nazi germany. I would not come here if you aren't prepared to act accordingly. By acting accordingly I mean subjecting yourself to the Nazi like regiment that operates this place. The facility is beautiful and has a lot of potential but it seems like the kids come and go without growing and it's because they can't stay true to themselves in an eviroment as strictly regimented as this. Inside the facility is nice, but the youth is moved around in groups, like herds of humans. The freedom factor in this place is nonexistent. Lastly an auditor and an investigator should look into this places funding and compare it to the youth being processed here. The entire thing feels like quick sand because a youth walks in on Monday and by Sunday they are kicked out into the cold simply because they were late or smelt like cannabis. They need to be more lenient in this place when it comes to the rules. If you know how to get this place investigated please help in doing that because winter is coming and it gets cold in alaska. In the last two weeks alone I have seen 20 come in and 15 leave in that same week. That's because the rules are too strict and freedom is little to nonexistent.

They were so warm and inviting. At first I could kind of tell they didn't have the best funding but everyone there was mostly happy as they could be and I immediately made friends and staff wasn't too pushy with questions in the intake. They even sent a cross necklace to the address I listed a whole year later with a letter and I only stayed a couple nights!

sometimes the place is a mess and not ready for another person and they didn't offer breakfast lunch or dinner
