I just played the South course yesterday with my son in law and his friend. It was supposed to be a bucket list once in a lifetime thing. We mistakenly thought since my son in law and I lived in Carlsbad and his friend lived in San Diego that our round would be 80 dollars. When I went to pay for my round the starter rudely said he needed 252 dollars. I said we were guests of our San Diego friend and we lived in San Diego county. The collector rudely said 252 as he threw my son in laws license back at him. I was very upset but since his San Diego friend already paid we decided to play. The starter said nothing to us on what to do. We went down to the carts to get our cart and were told we had to the pro shop and pay an additional 40 dollars for a cart! 300 dollars now has been spent for a round of golf. We got to the first tee and there was no one to tell us to tee off. We just teed off on our own. When we played we found out the fairways we in poor shape. They looked like they had been sanded or something, then we got to the greens and there were punched out and heavily sanded. Horrible!!!!! Any other course would charge half price or less for those kind of conditions. We were never told nor was anything posted. I plan to contact the PGA and someone higher up about this. This course is taking advantage of its name. I have the golf course managers phone number and will call him to start. Torrey Pines ought to be ashamed.

If you are a single golfer you can show up very early and get a tee time no problem during the week. Saw a bunch of people get on without delay. You have to stay and eat outside after at the lodge grill. I found my other golf single and we shared a cart. $202 for the South Course is about right price for this iconic place. No more than that though.

I was excited to play this beautiful course. I played 18 holes on the South course. The fairways had not been mowed and the greens had not been cut. A Sinkhole has formed on number 4 and you should have a sign that says bypass this hole. They have attempted to make a green in the fairway. But it had not been cut into a green. For the price for an out of town guest I was disappointed in the condition of the course.

Beautiful backdrop to a beautiful course. Two 18 hole courses. Any event here is fun and enjoyable and of course the best weather you can ask for year round. Enjoyable for the whole family with kid friendly activities as well as food and drink stands serving alcohol for the adults. They only allow bags 6" by 6" or smaller. Check the website before you go for other rules

The Epitome of a golf course... and they HAVE TWO courses (North & South. Always a beautiful sight with The Cliffs and Blacks Beach. Home to the Buick Ópen so this is no Executives course. It's a top notch professional place... but it's also a municipal course (Owned by the City of San Diego) where San Diego residents get the benefits of ultra discounted tee times.
