The selection is ok, seems like they are always out of one item I am looking for... the staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. sometimes they need to open up another cashier sooner, standing in line for over 10 ten minutes to leave is not good. Would rather go else where...

I love DICK'S Sporting Goods, but the Turlock one is my favorite! It is always super clean and not super busy. The associates are always friendly on the floor and at the register. Love the coupons, always go back for rewards, never had issues returning anything, love this store!

Visited Dick's in Turlock this afternoon for running shoes for my daughter. Very large selection of women's running shoes. I really like the fact that their shoe department is very well organized, making it easy to shop. We did need help with a clearance item which was not marked with a price, however the staff was readily available and very helpful. Checkout was a breeze and again the staff was very helpful. I asked if there were any coupons online for in store use. The gal at the counter walked me through finding the $20 off coupon. What a classy establishment.

So many great things for all your sports and fitness needs

This place suffers from the disease of success. More often than not, the more successful a business gets and the more it expands, the worse the training and customer service. Look at Wal-Mart, Target or Staples. The employees are partially to blame when it comes to lack of product knowledge, but it's probably the companies fault because it's just too common a problem in those stores. But I digress... My experience at Dick's went like this. I walked in and wanted to purchase a North Face jacket set. One of the sets that has a water proof outer shell and a zip in liner. So, I headed to their North Face section. I found a jacket I liked, but it was 2 sizes too large. I found an employee and asked if she could check to see if they had my size. She told me that she didn't work in that department and she would find someone that did. After checking with 2 other employees, she could NOT find the person that was supposed to be in the Outerwear department, BUT one guy was willing to help me. So I explained to him that I like that jacket that was in my hand, but I need a smaller size. He proceeded to walk me back to the Outerwear department and look through each rack of jackets to find a smaller size. (Like I didn't already do that?) (Also, he looked through jackets that were completely different colors, styles and brands from the one I was holding!) After going through the entire department, he said, "I can't find one." I responded with, "Neither could I." After 3 seconds of staring at me, I asked, "So, do you think you could check and see if you have more?" I could see that he was about to say that he couldn't find any, so I spoke up again, "You know, in the back? In the stock room." Then it dawned on him what I was talking about. He told me that he needed to find someone else to check in the back. After waiting about 25 minutes for someone to come back and speak to me, I hunted the guy down and asked him if someone was checking and he said there was. He found the person checking as they restocked a shelf. She said that she never checked because he never gave her the product information. He just said to go look for a blue North Face jacket. The jacket I wanted wasn't even blue. I placed the jacket on the nearest rack and walked straight out of the store. I can't imagine why I would ever go back.
