Beautiful setting. Nice improvements to the golf course restaurant and pro shop. Staff is exceptional.

Understaffed crew, it seems, as greens are ok, but fairways overgrown with daisies, rough very deep; tee boxes beat up/overgrown. This normally terrific course has great challenges in both length & greens, lots of doglegs & bunkers; distance control a must. Practice areas in good shape -- though the black dust on range balls is disturbing (no, it is NOT a charming local quirk). Limited amenities right now, as everything undergoing construction: the restaurant is closed, as is snack shop at the turn; only restroom is a single women's/men's/disabled's restroom out at the driving range; parking cramped/fenced off. Recommend waiting 'til they are done, Winter is over and grass gets mowed.

No maintenance, tee boxes and fairways are basically a continuation of the rough. Also the greens hadn't been rolled in a long time. Really disappointing golf experience. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Old school layout. Fun track

DeLaveaga- Spanish for dog leg- or should be. Unique layout on the top of a hill which would overlook Santa Cruz if the trees weren't so mature. A short course for my length, but challenging- a shot makers course. Bunkers were hit and miss on sand- careful of thin lies. I walked it and got a workout, I'm 51. Greens were bumpy due to muni fools not fixing ball marks. Recommend this course for the money for sure! Enjoy : )
