This is, in my opinion. The best test of golf on this side of the country! No tricks here. Just a very fair and beautiful 18 holes. Spy is a long course but you will never see a good shot get punished. This is also the toughest leg of the At&t pro-am.

Just got through playing the course. Wonderful golf course. The first five holes definitely have ocean views. The rest of the course is like the Robert Trent Jones golf trail courses in Alabama/Georgia. Very friendly staff. The greens are tough to read and a caddy is very helpful, but costs bucks on top of a high green fee/did without. One thing i noticed is the carts do not have sand for your divots. The water ponds would have been a whole lot better with water fall type sprays. Pebble beach is tougher for low handicap golfers. Two great courses. Do recommend.

Spyglass Hill Golf Course: The opening holes on this fabulous Robert Trent Jones Sr layout may have you thinking that a round of pure links golf lies ahead. Four of the opening five holes are played in an open oceanside setting, where impressive sand dunes and stunning ocean views are the norm. After this linksy opening, and not unlike the changing fortunes of the characters in Treasure Island (from where Spyglass Hill takes its name), things change dramatically as the holes turn inland. With immaculate conditioning throughout and many wonderfully memorable holes (both oceanside and in the forest), "The Glass" (as some locals call it) is right up there with the best of California's many world-class courses.
