San Juan Oaks Golf Club: California's first Fred Couples signature golf course blends effortlessly into its wonderfully peaceful, unspoilt and scenic environment. With rolling hills and sweeping views to admire from the course, and no housing anywhere around the perimeter, this stylish layout combines a flatter, meadow-land front-nine with a more undulating back-nine, which skirts into picturesque, grass covered hills and canyons.

Great layout in a beautiful setting. Very challenging with two different front and back layouts. Front being flatter with wide open fairways and water and the back through the rolling hills with a lot of elevation changes. Calm in the morning and windy in the afternoon which really added to the challenge. We started at 10:00, so we got a taste of both. Pace of play is about 4.5 hrs. Only real criticism was the lack of sand in the traps. Greens were firm and held the ball well. Fast with the grain and quite bit slower against the grain. As other's have pointed out, add sand to the traps and this is a five star layout. Club house is very nice and the food was ok. No complaints with the service. Nice range and practice facilities.
