Diablo Grande (in English "Great Devil") provides a further opportunity for a peaceful round of golf amongst the rolling foothills of the Diablo Range. One of the Ranch's best sections is "around the turn", where the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th occupy one of the three grassy canyons.

Great course. Beautiful settings. Challenging layout. Well maintained from tip to back of green and beyond. A lot of elevation changes. Friendly staff. Plenty of photo opportunities. Teed off at 2 on Friday afternoon and finished the round with my buddy in 3 hours. Absolutely enjoyed the round. Green speed is medium fast. Fairways are lush. Roughs are deep enough to cause you a few strokes. Tee boxes are all leveled. Fairway bunkers are mostly good. Only a few green side bunkers have hardpan in there. Overall, this is a great course. Only those high end courses in Palm Springs can match up with it, but you only pay a fraction of what you pay to play Palm Springs' elites.

If I didn't live two hours away, this would be my home course. Everything about it is a joy, including staff and members. Course is better than Poppy Hills. Coffee shop is a Starbucks! Great place to take a group or just show up as a single.
