Thursday, 4/26/18. I've played here many times and I really enjoy the course. This last experience with the Pro Shop Staff was very disappointing. Paul Terry, Event Coordinator seem rude, impatience and rolled his eyes as I was asking questions. I sure didn't feel welcome there. I would not want him to assist me again. The starter at the South course was the complete opposite. Very personal and welcoming. He had wonderful people skills. He more than make up for my early experience. I wish I had gotten his name. I had breakfast there as well and the server seemed bored and not welcoming. I will give them benefit of the doubt that this was a one time thing.

Played Baker North yesterday which is a solid test of your game. The course is a great value for the money. The greens were true and were fast. They re-did the greens a couple years back to achieve this. The house is in good shape even hole #6 a dogleg right par 5 is in decent shape. To make finding balls easier they have cleared growth which is a big help to speed up play. To play at Amiral Baker a non-military guest must guested by a military ID to play.

In San Diego we have so many choices where to play golf. AB North is a bit of a secret. It typically is not among the first tier of choices for local golfers or, especially, out-of-towners. Fine with me, more chance for me to play! However, in my opinion it certainly ranks in the top 10 of "public courses." It has length, terrain, elevations, topography, doglegs, water, bunkers, trees, deer, other wildlife, scenic points, decent greens, nice cart women, and decent practice facilities. I give it 4 stars because the golf snob in me likes pretty resort green, flowered, courses like Sycuan, or Torrey Pines, or some of the semi-private courses that dot San Diego County. But, the reality is that I really love playing this course. It is a military course and it does help to be active military to enjoy all of the perks that AB offers but it is open to us civilians. It truly is a hidden gem of a golf course here in San Diego.

Can't beat it for the price! 2 fun courses for a fraction of the cost of other places. Pace of play can be slow but great place to work on your game.

I came here to attend a conference for the first time and I was surprised at how big this area is. Also the hall is very clean and tidy and it looks well taken cared of. This is a beautiful golf course. I also heard that they offer Sunday brunches. I´ll be be back at this place for sure!
