Twin Hickory is definitely the nicest course in the Hornell/Canisteo/Arkport area and they are continuously making improvements. From the top of the hill, you get stunning views of the Canisteo valley as you play and the course is always well manicured - especially in the fall. However, I recently had an issue with the course operations. Every year for the past 10-15 years, I've come back in the fall for the Turkey Shoot tournament to play with my father. It's something we look forward to every year and even after I moved out of the country, I still fly back every year - golf clubs and all - to play. This year as we went up the day before the tournament to sign up, we were told it had been abruptly canceled the previous day - 2 days before it was to take place! They said we were the 5th or 6th group that day to try to sign up to no avail. Anyway, I'm not here to trash them about this. Obviously someone made the decision that it wasn't going to be profitable and they canceled it. However, every year without fail there have been 15-20 teams and it would have been nice if they had given the customers the benefit of the doubt. I think if they were concerned about turnout, there were many better options they could have opted for and I'm writing this in the hopes that they will see it and reconsider a move like this in the future. Once again, it's a luxury to have such a nice course in the area and I hope they will continue to host leagues and tournaments for years to come.

Forgiving open front 9 with a slightly more challenging back... all in all it's a great course with an amazing view up on the hill.
