Easy to find, right off Hwy 101. The park is on level ground and is far enough from the road that you cannot hear traffic. Campsites are level and easy to back into. Big, wide, flat, level, paved trails to overlook for visitors who have difficulties with sand. You can sit and watch the ocean on a wood platform that is all-accessible. Trails also go to south jetty and provide information about how the jetty changed the shoreline. Lots of trees provide shady campsite with bushes between sites for some privacy. Unique amphitheater made from shells. Playground and welcome center in the campground with bike rentals and interpretive programs daily. Lots of park hosts keep the park clean and well maintained. Gate house staffed, clean washrooms with flush toilets and hot, free showers. Great vacation park. Great ocean beaches.

Had the first ever family camping trip. It was pretty good considering that my 3 kids and wife had never been camping before. We forgot the adapter for the camp stove and had to do all our cooking over the fire. My wife and kids were in awe that everything tasted so good and that daddy could cook better over an open fire than on the electric range at home. The family had a great time flying kites at the nearby beach. The showers are great for easing the first timers into camping out for a whole week.

Beautiful state park. Very friendly volunteers. Nice camping sites with water and electric. It has an RV dump stayion. I recommend reserving early because summer sites can be hard to come by. The trails are well maintained. I really like that the campground is somewhat sheltered from the wind. Easy access to a very long beach. And finally, it's very close to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Bay Street in Newport.

There is a really cool disc golf course. Overall really well maintained state park. Hospitality center sells firewood, ice, ice cream (Yum) also has complimentary coffee and tea. They have loaner discs for the disc golf course. It is a big park close to the beach. I would never ever camp on the beach. The ocean is very powerful and unpredictable!

Very nice state park campground. All spaces are full hook-up, if you have solar or a tent you can save $10 by not using it. 1/4 mile walk to the beach, with lots of hiking trails. Hot free showers. This place is on a reservation system and usually full in summer, but plenty of room for walk-ins now in February.
