Played here on 3/26/18 and enjoyed a nice morning 18 despite cooler than typical weather. The fairways, greens, and tees were in great shape and the rough was in hibernation due to the time of year. This is to be expected at most courses that aren't trading on their name or location. The courses at Kiawah, for instance, are green across the board, but that is expected where it isn't at Stono. The staff were nice and at the carts outfitted with towels and sand jugs. The scorecard would benefit from a layout map as there aren't any at the tees. I used Google Maps to figure out where the blind doglegs led.

There's an abundance of good golf here at Stono Ferry and plenty of history as well. The scenic back-nine certainly goes up a gear from the more ordinary front-nine, taking you out to the banks of the wide and impressive Stono River. The drama and history of the back-nine is not quite matched by the relatively flat, though pleasantly and "openly" wooded front-nine.

Played Stono Ferry on February 23, 2018. It cost us about $73. The layout is very nice but the course was in very poor condition. Bumpy greens with a lot of Poa annua and dried out fairways. It is in need of some TLC.

Great golf course. In great condition. Easy to walk if you care to. Employees are very helpful
