Five stars for maintenance, one star for the golfing experience. Went there today to play as it was, based on their webpage, not particularly busy when my other usual courses were booked up. It was against my better judgment because I seldom have a good experience there, the course does not fit my golf game well, and is often crowded and plagued by slow, terrible players, but is usually in good condition. Today, despite some ongoing green maintenance, the course was in superb condition, even the greens that had been plugged (small tines) and sanded in the last 24 hours. Because of the maintenance in progress on the front, I was told to start on the back and followed a threesome and a twosome who played at a fairly good clip. I reached the turn about an hour and a half later to find they were now starting all groups on the front, ie, 10 tee and fairway were empty, but there was a foursome on the green on 1, in the middle of the first fairway and three foursomes in front of me for the first tee. And no groups on two or three. After waiting for every shot through the second green, I had a group behind me hit into me twice, and then try to take the third tee before I hit. The group in front of me obviously would not let me play through and the group behind me complained I should not be on the course in the middle of all the foursomes. Just another typical Randolph Oaks experience for me. I won't be back anytime soon. But again, the course maintenance is superb. And the pro shop staff is friendly even if they can't properly manage the flow of golfers.

Went to practice. Small bucket was $3. Used the bucket to practice putting, chipping and finished with hitting selected clubs on the driving range. The building is dated but the course looked to be in good shape. Practice Putting green was in good shape. The chipping green next to the driving range could use some attention. The driving range tee box was in excellent shape.

Played over Thanksgiving. The course was in outstanding shape! My guest was incredibly impressed by the quality and challenge of the greens. Well done to the great staff.
