Mountain bike trails: The mountain bike trails at Alpine Valley are outstanding. For Wisconsin, these trails offer a lot of climbing, providing a great physical challenge if you're looking to train. The trails also have a great mix of technical features and exciting flow sections. These trails also tend to dry out more quickly than others in southern Wisconsin following rain. Check them out! Tons of fun.

As a family, we've skied Alpine Valley several times and enjoy the Nordic village feel. The employees are pleasant, helpful and generally engaged in their jobs. Large bar/restaurant area at the bottom of the hill, allows for interesting viewing of skiers/boarders. Food in the bar area is typical bar food. The actual dining room has a full menu and the food has always been consistently good. The hotel rooms are outdated and some need maintenance but, adequate for a 2 night stay. I love the lobby area feel and look. The arcade and indoor pool is a plus for families. It's an overall good experience.

Made a couple runs here at the end of ski season. Slopes are decent for the Midwest. A bit of a stretch to call any of them black diamonds though. Lifts are fast enough, man-made snow, and plenty of parking. The are also a couple terrain parks. $35 for tickets, which I thought was decent. It's a good option to get some skiing in in the Midwest. Especially if you're coming from Chicago, like I was; all the other places are at least another hour or two farther and not much, if even, better.

My family has not stayed here overnight but at just an hour’s drive from the Chicago suburbs, this ski resort is a wonderful choice for families. Not only is rental and entry affordable ($60 per person per day total), but the teachers are very patient and good. There’s a good variety of slopes (blacks to greens) something for the whole family, from the inexperienced to the more weathered skiers. For the moms and grandparents not out on the snow, the indoor seating is plenty and comfortable with fireplaces scattered throughout and concession-style food, coffee, and hot chocolate accessible all day. On the upper floors, there are beautiful holiday decorations and when you come in to warm up, you can really enjoy the ambiance. At night, the separate buildings of Alpine Valley and tree lighting work together to create a magical-looking mini ski village (out of Europe or a Thomas Kinkade painting) right here in Wisconsin. Alpine Valley is def the best ski resort we’ve tried in the area, and we come (multiple times) every year. It’s also a popular choice for college students on winter break or looking for a fun weekend excursion. I honestly can’t wait to come here again next winter !!

Great little place to go. It's not the Rockies, but we moved to central Illinois and this place is great for the area. There are a ton of lifts, so lines aren't too long. It did get crowded at times, but that's expected. Plenty of easier runs which I liked because I'm not the greatest on skis. Not very difficult overall if you're an experienced skier/boarder, even the "black diamonds" but it's enough of a challenge to be fun. Many options for lift ticket times/ prices . Rentals are easy to get. We stayed at the resort, it's not a 5 star hotel but it has a hot tub, friendly staff, and affordable prices.
