A little pricey but a great time with nice views

Very nice golf course, well maintained and reasonably priced. Not a super easy course but very fun all the while. They also have a beverage cart that serves beer.

I have been golfing for 32 years and have never been treated like I was yesterday at Lake Mills Golf Course. Their "management" is beyond reproach and should be removed by the owners. I went to this course because I've always wanted to try it. Big mistake! We went there for my wife's birthday and had plans for dinner later and then on to see a band. We teed off at 12:07 to start our round. By hole 8 we had a best ball outing behind us that was hitting into us. We were not playin slow as we were a twosome and made it around 9 holes under two hours . When we got through 9 holes we noticed it was backed up on #10. They had let another outing go off the back. I was not happy as I knew this could potentially ruin our plans later on. I went into the clubhouse to communicate my displeasure only to be told "we're busy" and there was nothing they could do. We went back to the 10th tee box. There were two groups still waiting to tee off. We ended up jumping in front of the outing to hole 14 to get those holes in and go back to play the other holes later. This never happened because there were solid groups and we couldn't jump in. I went back to the clubhouse to complain about our experience. The woman stated there was nothing she could do but I could talk to the manager. She said she would go get "her". Then she comes back with a man. I explained our experience and displeasure and he just made excuses. He justified the courses actions and then got an attitude. He said "you can't expect to have the course to yourself". Knowing that I was getting nowhere with this jerk I promptly said "fu". Then he invited me to leave and I respectfully obliged. On the way out I might have called him an a-hole. After dealing with his arrogance, attitude and unapologetic ways I would never go back nor would I recommend this course to anyone. There was not one person that every apologized for the bad experience. No remorse for crappy service is inexcusable and this course deserves to go out of business. The course itself is about two stars. The bar and grill staff were good at about four stars. Maybe they should be running the pro shop. The pro shop gets a negative five which comes out to a one star rating. I've had only one other bad golf experience with a 6 hour round and the first words out of their mouth was "I'm sorry". I never got anything nor expected anything other than those two words! Enjoy golf at any other course.

Terrible management. Before I paid for my round of 18 I asked the man at the register if it was possible for me to get a raincheck if I wanted to stop after 9 (I have a back injury). He said no problem and laughed it off. When I came in after 9 with back pain wanting a rain check, he refused and mocked me. I am leaving this course with no raincheck and humiliated. This course will NOT be getting my business. Take your money and go somewhere else. I am very disappointed.
