We contracted Mike to spruce up our 35 yr old mountain style course and repair dozens of gunite cracks, erosion problems, brick pavers around the greens and improve some holes that held up play/lost balls in the 5-6 water features and was generally very, very tired looking. Holy cow! We got a brand new course. After seeing how fast and creative this guy was, we added replacement of all the posts, netting and rebuilding a 150' of retaining wall. He replaced the perimeter pavers on all 18 holes and where slopes were too steep for pavers, be great looking 'stone border' w/gunite. Then we had him rework walking paths that had brick pavers and erosion issues. He not only repaired the aesthetics,.He engineered permanent drainage solutions at every point. He goes by Mike Codman, but we call him MacGyver. He showed up exactly when expected, from Wyoming (We're in Royal Oak MI), started working on the course w/in 1 hour of arriving on a Saturday afternoon. Unbelievable work ethic and talent. See this link after we re-open for 2017 season in late May. I've had 5 teams build miniature courses for me over last 15 years. They were all good guys. Fast and efficient, great you work with. But they don't hold a candle to Big Sky. His team which includes his lovely wife as a key player, is amazing. I was seriously concerned about having a rough & tumble gunite crew (what I thought I'd hired) also do the carpet. They specked the grade, ordered, cut and laid it, better than the other 3 teams I hired in the past. I expect to see an increase in rounds this year of 20-25%. We have one of busiest courses in Michigan, but now with improved pace of play and finishes, we'll kill it. Thanks to Mike and Colleen
