Excellent food, excellent service. Did a little research by reading reviews for Melissa's. All I could find were petty complaints and a couple people who didn't like the way their steak was cooked. Took a chance and decided to give it a try. We called less than an hour ahead fearing a long wait and the staff was happy to give us a reservation. Our party had a couple pizzas (flat- NY style), a cheeseburger, wings, and the Salmon dinner. The pizza was not the best we ever had, but easily passable as above average even back home. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed their meal, the prices were fair considering the location and the caliber of the restaurant decor. No complaints whatsoever!

The food here was great and the table service was quick, efficient and friendly. We came here as a large group and the staff was able to handle us and everyone else in the busy restaurant easily. Not a single person at our table was dissatisfied with the food. The interior is very rustic and really makes you feel like you're eating a cozy meal in a mountain lodge.

Went to Melissa's for breakfast and it was bustling. The waiting area became full shortly after we came in . The mimosas came out pretty quickly and the window seat was awesome, being able to look out at the mountains while eating. The bagel and lox was delicious. The smoked salmon on it tasted fresh. The hasbrowns had a nice taste and was not bland. Would recommend for a breakfast spot.

Wonderful food, friendly and fast servers. I came here in a group of 16 (school trip), they easily seated us at 4 tables next to one another with 2 servers. Even though it was understandable, if not necessary, they asked us if it was okay! Definitely come here (and try the gumbo).

This was a group lunch experience. I have been here with my school band before and the service has always been prompt and courteous. Group lunch choices were: hot turkey sandwich, chicken Caesar salad, cheese burger, veggie burger, and single club sandwich. All mains came with either a salad or fries. Dessert and refillable soft drinks included. Group pricing was $21.00 a person. Food came quickly (we did pre-order) and we were given a private room to the side of the restaurant. Very rustic decor (rough wood panelling). One word of caution: Banff bylaw are real barbarians when it comes to buses even stopping at or near the restaurant so if your driver doesn't want to risk a ticket, you may have to walk a block or two. All in all though, a great place to take a group for lunch. Someday I'll bring a group for supper.
