We ordered the Châteaubriand for Two and it was excellent. The server was friendly and made our experience a good one. I will certainly eat here again.

Large family so we ordered many dishes. Everything was excellent. The pulled pork tacos and bison chorizo were especially a hit! Service was great!

If you want a great dining experience you have to come to El Toro. The food there is so phenomenal it was excellent the lamb and beef dishes also there deserts are so fun the banana flambe for two and their cheese cake is to die for. The customer service was absolutely over-the-top they make you feel like you're the only ones in the restaurant. our server was absolutely great thank you so much for a wonderful evening with my family.

Never written a review before as I work in the service industry and know how damaging these things can be but had to after coming here last weekend (Saturday April 28) for a quick bite after skiing hard all day with my mum. The windows and name suggested this was a Mexican restaurant however, if you want Mexican food, you're better off ordering at a mall or airport food court. I ordered the Chicken enchiladas. What I expected was enchiladas (you know, chicken and cheese etc in a tortilla baked in a chipotle tomato like sauce, covered in cheese and looking kind of like a Mexican lasagna). What I got was three skinny taquito like dry-baked "enchiladas" with some iceberg lettuce thrown on top with a scoop of "Spanish" (uncle ben's perhaps) rice and beans. It was dry, bland, and definitely not worth $22. To make matters worse, my mother ordered a burrito (no peppers (bell or hot) as she has a stomach sensitivity). What we expected was a burrito (ground or sliced beef, tomato, lettuce, salsa, cheese, etc... you know, a burrito). What she got was more of a rolled fajita? Large chunks of beef (gristle/fat laden and chewy as all get out as if it had never been marinated and had been grossly overcooked) with around 2 lbs of caramelized onion wrapped in a tortilla and then thrown onto the same style "Spanish" rice (riddled with bell peppers) and beans. Just beef and onion (lots of it)... The burrito was so bad that I personally could not stomach a bite, even of just the beef and I usually eat anything. It was also the worst $22 spent ever. Notes on service: 1. There was no quality check done to see whether we liked our meal. 2. The gentleman who took our plates noticed my mother had barely eaten her onion beef "wrap" and made comment however never really asked what the issue was, suggested some sort of alternative, or comped the item in some way. 3. The room was full of dirty glasses.... Ever heard of polishing glassware? Handling glasses by only the stem and base? 4. The "waiting" area is a bunch of seats on an accessibility ramp which both my mother and I found to be hilarious as all the chairs are sloped. Wouldn't want to be sitting at the bottom... This was probably the only highlight of our night (laughing at the thought of people sliding from chair to chair into each other). $44 plus tax and tip later... We will not be coming back ever. If you are looking for Mexican of any sort, I suggest you walk to the IGA a few blocks down the road and purchase some kind of Odel Paso kit etc. because that would by 50 times better and 50 times cheaper than dining at El Toro.
