I work downtown (have for years) and finally decided to stop at the Zinc for lunch with a co-worker after walking past many times. First thing I noticed was the architecture. Granted Zinc is located inside the AGA and obviously had to follow a certain classy and elegant style and it was achieved with the chrome decor and wide windows. The selection on the lunch menu was not overly large but had just enough variety and was reasonably priced. The "glass of wine for half price" during lunch was really tempting but I sadly had to pass. Food was delicious - it was served quickly, tasted fresh and the peach vinaigrette on the Gallery Salad was lovely.

I was so disappointed last Friday on my first visit to Zinc. From the time we ordered to the when we received our first appetizer was 45 minutes. There were only two or three other tables when we arrived, so they weren't even that busy. Plus the music was a combination of cool jazz layered on top of descending-into-madness modern screeches. Unfortunately, at this point it didn't matter how the food tasted. We had to rush to eat to make our show. I can't recommend Zinc, I was so disappointed.

Blue Crab Yorkshire Pudding with Caesar salad was splendid. The Clubhouse had a huge piece of chicken and the gallery salad with grilled artichoke and citrus vinaigrette was very tasty.

My hubby and I love this place for brunch. It's a little expensive if you do the full 3-course option, but they're very consistent in quality. If you're vegetarian, there aren't a lot of options, you'll just have to modify what's available. Personally, I find that just ordering the main course is filling enough. Food tip: My husband and I both find the hot chocolate that comes with the brunch dessert much too sweet, so feel free to dump that into your coffee to make a mocha. Haha!
