I love State and Main. Its busy during the lunch hour but the food is always good and the service was excellent. They revamped some items on their menu a few months ago and its made them perfect. I highly recommend any of their sandwiches, they're all good and the sides are excellent. The garden salad is so delicious and their cornbread is second to none. The bar is my favorite place to sit during lunch and if you're dining alone, I recommend you head there instead of getting a booth.

The waitress seemed to be in a big hurry unnecessarily. When the salad and steak plate arrived it was a tiny pile of wilted greens with some fried mushrooms. The steak was sliced according to the chef's preference, not mine. I asked for well done, and even though it was only a half an inch thick, the steak was pink inside. Seems like a better place to drink than to eat. The Southgate branch where I ate about six years ago was 500% better in terms of food quality, quantity, and in customer service. I will not return.

Pretty generic "mid tier" chain restaurant, change the sign to Moxie's,Earl's, Joey's, Milestone's, etc and you probably wouldn't know the difference. That being said the food isn't bad and the cocktail are pretty good. Good place to satisfy most everyone when out and about and don't know where to go.

The place offers good selections but seems to take a long time to get food to the table. It has more of a bar feel than other State and Mains I've been to. I wonder if more time leads to more alcohol sales. Not a good spot for kids.

I've been several times, and I can't justify more than a 3/5 even despite $5 drink specials, sorry about that. The service has left much to be desired most of the time, and has sometimes just been outright bad enough to eventually get fed up and go elsewhere instead. The food is OK. I only go here because it's a place that's close to work and occasionally just happens to be the place people are hitting up after they punch out. Would recommend many other places over this State & Main.
