I've been a long time customer going to this location since the opening day. Never had a problem until the last 2 visits, both myself and my family member have become extremely Ill after eating the California rolls and now the Mackenzie roll. They've always been good but in recent months the food quality seems good at first but hours later you feel the result of the sushi. Would not recommend this location until this problem is solved.

I want to preface this by saying I am a long time customer of sumo sumo and have always LOVED their sushi and the restaurant. HOWEVER I took my friend there for the first time today and it has gone completely downhill. We waited over 15 minutes for a hostess (they didn’t even have a hostess on staff, it was a server) to even acknowledge our presence. It got to the point that I was googling other places to go. We finally got seated and then waited another 15 minutes for a server who seemed more then unhappy to be taking our order. We put in our drink order and when she came back 20 minutes later to take our food order, she acknowledged how she would go make our drinks that we had been waiting forever for (apparently she was also the bartender that night?). All on all we were at the restaurant over 2 hours for a couple sushi rolls and were barely acknowledged the whole night. In the end they forgot one of the rolls my friend ordered and another drink I had ordered. We told them not to bother bringing them as we had been waiting long enough the whole evening. It is highly disappointing because the sushi is so delicious, but the service and the way the staff treated us was absolutely not acceptable. They clearly don’t have enough staff to run the restaurant competently. I will absolutely be looking for a new local sushi spot going forward.

We've been here at least 5 times, and it's always a great experience. The fish is fresh, there are some really interesting rolls and a wide variety of non-sushi options. There's also a beautiful patio and decor, and the service is good.

My family has always reserved visiting Sumo Sumo for special occasions. They have distinguished themselves with their unique signature rolls, larger proportions of fish and overall better grade sushi. However, our recent visits have been very poor. The portions of fish in each roll were very very slim, the rice seemed as if it was left out for too long, and overall the rolls seemed dry which is very uncommon in my experience. Service was also poor, really disappointing as I'm now quite reluctant to return.

Delicious rolls and very filling. Good service too! Little pricey but so worth it.
