We had our wedding reception last night and it was absolutely amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better setting. Sonja at the Hart House was very professional and respected and executed all of our particular requests, very patient with us. We had a 3 course meal for the guests and the food came out looking amazing and tasting fantastic all of our guests were super impressed! Good work Chef! Highly recommend this gem!

Generally a great place to eat. They have a mean Caesar salad, made with anchovies. Service is always great. **Update: Mother's Day Brunch: Avoid. The value for food was not that great. If you get an upstairs table, there was not enough food at the buffet so you had to always ask for food downstairs. Fruits ran out. Dessert ran out. Some of the dishes were not executed well this year -- smoked salmon orzo salad where there were raw peas? Service always great, but it cannot make up for the bad experience this year. I guess I'll stick to their regular dinners and not their buffets.

Hart House provides consistently high levels of service and excellent food. I have dined at Hart House on many occasions and have received consistently high quality experiences. A very cozy and unpretentious heritage house restaurant.

Quaint and classic setting with views over the lake. Reminiscent of the Fish House formerly at Stanley Park (architecture wise). Menu and value is what you would expect from this kind of restaurant which depends largely on taste. Would highly recommend for fancier functions like weddings or anniversaries.

Quite disappointed in the Valentines Day set menu we had last night. I went with my wife and although the service and setting were at least worth 4 stars the food was only worth 2 stars. Hence my 3 star rating. Nothing really stood out as great food. When I pay $88.00 per person I expect GREAT food. Nothing was bad (sandy scallops might be the exception - but were cooked perfectly). The appetizers were kind of boring (the cornmeal "pancake" and arctic char combination was truly tasteless) . The oysters three ways were pretty decent (the cucumber oyster was boring). The shared truffle risotto plate was ok but nothing special, the flavour was dominated by the Parmesan, the smoked carrots got completely lost -(very oddly served too as a communal share plate with two small bread plates given to each person but no spoon to serve - we scooped it up with our forks). The beef dish was good (very small portions and no side) and the scallops were good save the beach hardware mentioned above (loved the little cauliflower breaded bites though),. The cheesecake and chocolate tart were very yummy and done well - definitely the high-point of the night.
