If I could give this place a zero I would. There was hair in my food that wasnt my hair color and the manager was extremely rude about it. Very dirty, fish tasted old, not fresh. Do not go there. If you want fresh sushi go to sushi garden to the road. The good reviews on here are probably by the owner.

Fist off get your own tea, the chef is busy. If you're a regular he'll just give you a piece of paper and tell you to write down your order, give it to him when you're ready. If you feel that chef is being short with you then maybe you should be paying attention. I love anything grilled. 7 min walk from royal oak station. 5/5 stars

The freshest sushi we have ever had. Every dish had wonderful flavour, the atmosphere was homey and comfortable, and the prices are good. This restaurant has been highly recommended, and the word is clearly spreading, as the owner was run off his feet trying to keep up with the steady influx of guests walking through the door. He needs more help, was short on chairs, and the format is partly self-serve, partly table service. Once he irons out these glitches it would be a definite 5-star.

The man behind the counter has a direct manner that can seem rude sometimes. The sushi is of excellent quality and the price is more than fair.

Good authentic Japanese food, too bad the owner can be quite short with customers and has no issue handling the the debit machine and then food without washing his hands in between. I used to go there quite a bit for dine in and take out, until I witnessed him handing me the machine for a take out order, then going directly to making a sushi roll.
