The service is always exceptional here however, Cary is literally the best server in all of Nanaimo. Whether I am there for a business meeting or for a girls lunch, she knows how to provide the best service for each situation - offering privacy when needed, and adding to the enjoyment of a casual get together. Minnoz offers a great atmosphere for hosting visitors or for hosting a business lunch.

Extremely poor service. It took 1.5 hours to be served salads with 1 appetizer ( to be served all at once ) for a table of 3. Food was ok, but overpriced. Waiter was completely inattentive and did not even ask if we wanted a second drink or apologize for wait. I had also made an inquiry about an ingredient in my salad I needed to avoid, and after 1.5 hour wait the waiter set my long awaited dinner down and informed me it contained the unwanted ingredient. At this point we were nearly late for our theatre event next door, so there was not much I could do. Very disappointing.

Came here for my anniversary. Ordered a 26 dollar honey dijon glazed chicken breast with goat cheese and black pepper risotto, vegetables and a mulled cranberry apple chutney. The chicken was cooked beautifully but the overall dish was unimpressive. The risotto was more just rice with goat cheese and pepper, the rice was fully cooked and it was not held together with a stock like a risotto should be, so to call it risotto would be a little untrue. It had clumps of goat cheese in the rice and flecks of pepper but the grind was not coarse enough for the pepper to be a dominant flavour like I was expecting. The honey dijon glaze tasted like just honey and dijon mixed together with nothing else and was too sweet. The vegetables were bland and the dish was garnished with a sprig of thyme that I had no clue what to do with and stuck out of my dish like a tree when it arrived at the table. It wound up having to sit on my rim for the entire dinner. The whole dish was almost a literal interpretation of the menu description. Like someone read the two lines and used that as a recipe for the whole dish. Which made for a very flat flavour profile. I didnt complain because it was late and I knew there was nothing they could do. Was it bad? No. I ate the whole thing. Was it the splurge on my anniversary I was hoping for and worth almost 30 dollars? Also no. I feel like I paid more for a mediocre product because they could tell me my goat cheese was from the Okanogan.
