A friendly cafe in a charming vintage Ladysmith storefront, serving simple Canadian diner fare and Chinese dishes. I stepped in from a cold night while waiting for a pickup and enjoyed the ambience - this is clearly a local meeting place. I appreciate the spacious premises and easy level access and wide front door. Power chair users and manual wheelchair users would find this cafe easy to get around in. I had fries and staff were quick to check on me and indulge my strange tastes in condiments.

Poor service. In a party of three the first person was served and the other two had to wait 10 minutes for theirs to arrive, by which time the first person had pretty much finished. Poor food. The clubhouse and burger were overpriced and completely tasteless, as were the frozen chips. A clubhouse is hard to get wrong, but they managed, with cold hard toast and bland ingredients. When I asked for something on the dessert menu the waitress rummaged around in a small chest freezer. If I wanted to eat frozen food I'd buy it myself at Walmart. Won't be wasting money there again.

Excellent halibut and fries. And incredible chinese menu items (not greasy, super fresh and great flavor)

I had their Red Snapper Fish and Chips. Excellent portions, batter is light and crispy, coleslaw the best I've tasted. Wonderful diner. The ceiling is unique.
