Stop by Horseshoe Bay for some grub. Wandered around & found this restaurant, great view to watch the ferry. Nice place, staff were friendly, we came early at 11am on a Friday morning. By noon, thenplace was packed. We had the 2 piece Haddock fish & chips... big pieces of fish, nicely done. My friend had the crab cakes. We also ordered the shrimp & bacon club sandwich with a salad. The sandwich was stack high, shrimp was fresh... no fishy smell to it. Nicely done again. All in all, a nice meal.

Troll's Restaurant has been a mainstay in Horseshoe Bay for generations. The interior hasn't changed much but that adds to the charm. The prices are not unreasonable given the prime oceanview location beside the ferry terminal. I recommend the haddock and yam fries with a pint of Fat Tug. Make sure to sit out on the patio on a sunny day. But be careful, you might miss your ferry!

Troll's was awesome. Our waiter Spencer was outstanding. He was very personable and spent time with us even though the place was packed. This fish tacos were killer and e ough for a light lunch. The fish and chips were the best we've had on our trip. Great local craft beers, a perfect lunch!

Loved it! Will be back for sure, our server was very helpful allowing us to relocate to another patio table which free’d up right after we ordered. The blue cheese burger was the best I’ve had in years, and the cod and chips (wish I’d taken a photo) was well battered and perfectly crispy moist and tasty. Prices are very reasonable, great setting to spend a few hours on an afternoon. May do this more often throughout summer!

We drove out to horseshoe bay for fish & chips yesterday and specifically to Troll’s. We hadn’t been to Troll’s for a number of years and last time we were there the fish and chips were great. What a disappointment! The batter coating on the fish was overly cooked on the outside but slippery and raw on the inside. The fish fell right out of the batter coating and was extremely moist. Neither the batter or the fish were seasoned and it was very bland. Overall the fish and chips were very greasy. I had the yam fries and they were quite good but the regular fries were barely warm. Neither of us finished our meal and for hours after we ate we had a odd metallic idolized flavour in our mouths. We will never be back. I wondered when I saw another fish and chip restaurant across the street from Troll’s how they could possibly compete... but now I understand. Next time we go to horseshoe bay for lunch we will try C Lovers fish & chips instead.
