So I finally made it to the Poor Italian after years of passing by on the way to hwy 1. The reservation process through google is enabled and is super effective with its reminders and even directions when it's time to go. There was ample parking and our table was in a good spot allowing some view into the mountains. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Nice ambience and well equipped restaurant. We order several starters to share and two main dishes. I ordered the grilled calamari based on the many reviews and found it to be an excellent choice. We ordered the carpaccio which was came well presented and very tender and flavorful. The starters we ordered were both pastas which also came in generous portions and very tasty. The tortellini was slightly on the dry side. I would certainly come again to have some more of the calamari and explore their other dishes. It is slightly on the pricey side but quality, service and portions fully justify. I would give them a rating 4.5 stars. Thank you for a nice meal Poor Italian Team.

This is a rustic little Italian restaurant, and while the staff tried hard, I was not very impressed with the food. I tried the gnocchi, which was only okay. I also tried the tortellini, which was slightly better, but not all that special. The best part of this meal was dessert - tiramisu. Prices are not cheap, which is why I lowered this from a 3 star to a 2 star. I wouldn’t repeat.

The food is such a delight for my pallet. One of the best Italian Restaurants that I have tried. Want something not on the menu, call day before and good chance they will do it up for you. Seriously!!

Came here to celebrate with a nice dinner. The meal was amazing, and the service was amazing as well. The food was so fresh, everything came really quickly and we were well taken care of. This will definitely be a recommendation and we will be back for sure.
