Last minute decision to call and get reservations, was neat to hear they had a buffet and live music that night. Excellent food all night with great live music.

Beautiful location. Ate at Wednesday seafood buffet. Some of the food on the buffet was very good. Others ok. Chef and waitstaff very friendly. Musician (Devon) was very good.

Wow did we laugh at the laughing oyster. Food was amazing and the portions are abundant! We sailed in down the inlet from Desolation and were surprised to find world class wine food. And to round it out we had two guitar minstrels that made our night magic. Tables were cleared and we danced and closed the place. Order the bisque and the halibut. Chase it down with some Burrowing Owl Sauv Blanc and enjoy the sunset. Highly recommended for boaters!

Be warned, the seafood buffet is not really a seafood buffet. We reserved our table well in advance and took a special trip by boat (2 hours each direction) to visit this place and were totally let down. No fresh crab, no fresh prawns, no shrimp cocktail, no lobster bisque, no clam chowder. The seafood we did find at the buffet were Deep fried oysters, Deep Fried Ling Cod, Poached salmon that was very mushy (and look like it was farmed), a fish burrito, and some chopped up prawns in the mashed potatoes. THAT WAS IT! There were 3 salads at the buffet which literally consisted of greens and a dressing. Nothing else. No imagination went into the salads at all. They had a server slicing pork and roast beef at the seafood buffet... both of which were so tough we couldn't cut through them with the knives we were given. We were offered dessert menus at the end of our meal but learned that dessert was not included in the buffet, we would have to pay per item! Since when does any self-respecting buffet not include dessert??? The buffet was a huge disappointment for our group overall. The food is not organic or locally sourced. The flavour and presentation were mediocre (at best) and the Seafood Buffet is not really a Seafood Buffet, but more like a buffet with some deep-fried seafood in it. Another thing we noticed was that our server and most of the other waitresses (and owner!) in the restaurant were wearing open-toed shoes and were in desperate need of a pedicure. Say what you will about this nit-picky comment, but looking at actual toe jam while eating deep fried oysters will always be a "No" in our book. Our thoughts are that this place is super busy, not because it is a great restaurant, but because it is the ONLY restaurant in this area and draws a large crowd of boaters. Our advice would be to skip this place and head to the little mexican restaurant in Powell River.... where the food is ACTUALLY good.... Unless of course you just want to look at the view, we had no complaints in that department.
