Edit: My S/O reached out the day after and received a refund. **** VERY dissatisfied. At 7:35 pm tonight (well before closing which is 8 pm) we called to order a dish we regularly order for take out from this place. From past experiences I know that it usually takes ten minutes to prepare and we planned accordingly to be there well before closing. We were already on our way when we tried to place an order for take out but no one picked up the first, second, third, or fourth time but we kept trying because, again we were already on our way. After the EIGHTH time they picked up. Mind you it is now 7:45 pm. A bit annoying but I digress. They take our order, we very clearly state we want 2 vegan hearty bowls with beans and zucchini (a VEGAN upon request option as written on their menu) Get there at 7:48 pm to pick it up and it's all packaged and ready to go. (It being quick is about the only good thing about this whole experience by the way) We get home and open our food to find it covered in sour cream and cheese. Now, either the staff at the Mexican Gourmet need training on their own menu or it was intentional. Whatever the case I am extremely disappointed. I thought I could trust this place to handle a dietary restriction as advertised but apparently not. Beware to those who have any type of allergy or restriction because you may just end up eating something you hadn't planned to at this place.

Sunny days and lunch at The Mexican Gourmet - not to be missed! With wide open doors fresh breezes are refreshing and the sunshine is welcome. Taco chips with house made hot sauce are great for a starter. The lunch bowl with zucchini is delicious. The artisan burrito is very filling and hard to resist. Don't miss the churros if you have room! Wonderful!

I read the reviews before eating here and the negative ones im seeing are unfounded. Portion sizes are more then adequate for the pricing and service was awesome. Food was fantastic! If you are looking for good clean food that tastes great this is your place. This is not a big expensive restaurant its a take out counter with a few tables so if you are looking for the nice comfy booth with pretty lighting and sub standard food you need to go somewhere else. This is now on my favourite places to eat list.

I tried Mexican food for the first time today with my Mexican friend. I asked my friend to choose/order whatever he wants instead of me. With having no idea how the taste will be, I would like to say I liked the lunch I had, the coffee was amazing. Service was great and the restaurant was a nice and clean place. Prices was average. We paid total of $53 plus tip for whatever you can see on pictures for each person. I would recommend this place to everybody who wants to enjoy a lunch or dinner.

Really fresh authentic Mexican food served in a very unique setting. Staff was very friendly and the food was made fresh and delivered fast. Prices are very comparable to other Mexican places - as well I noticed the restaurant was very clean which I always appreciate. I would return when Iâ€™m in the area and would recommend it to YOU!
