JUST getting back to Ottawa after a long Victoria Day weekend in Osoyoos where we stayed at the Spirit Ridge Resort that is itself a real treat--it is well-run, relaxing, with pretty much anything you could possibly need on-site. THE beach-side C a n t i n a is on a lake, just a short walk through a lovely vineyard hillside from the resort and is a great spot for family, friends, fun, and some really fresh and fantastic food . . . I tried their fish tacos as well as their signature cantina burger by the same name that was washed down with some nice cold beer of course--and their margaritas are, well, really, really, really satisfying. (I found their serving glass on the small side however, but maybe that's just me? :) And, if you dare, you have to try their Bulldog, a large drink that is a mix of margarita and beer--i.e., a margarita slushy largely into which an opened bottle of cold beer is sunk, the bottle's top pointing south, the beer in turn releasing slowly as you come close to finishing the slush with the requisite straw. (Good fun really--and 'effective' I might add!) And along with the beachfront and a great vista, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the rentals for recreational water sports close by (e.g., boats, sea-doos, paddle boats, canoes and the like) and had there been more time we would've had a go for sure. WE were a party of 75 people Sunday evening (it was a wedding weekend: Congrats Kristin and Taylor!) and the service and the live music were first rate. FINALLY, be sure to seek out the manager to get a little more of an historical snapshot of the area--originally from South Africa, Greg's his name, and he's the guy with the big smile and a gift for making you feel right at home. Muchas gracias Greg for the nice evening and hope we can get back another time with any luck!! Don A.

Ridiculously overpriced for terrible quality. Burrito we had tasted moldy and like the filling was pre-packaged frozen gunk. Drinks were mediocre but also insanely overpriced. Go somewhere else if you can.

Our waitress was quite pleasant, however when it came to the management it was a whole other story. Unapologetic and rude as after two beers I was accused of being "too drunk" and cut off from the bar by the manager himself. We didn't order food and the lacklustre drinks were priced far too high for an establishment of their quality. I will not be giving this business any more of my time or money.

The food is not good. Especially for the price. Location & Service are great. But for how much our bill was we were super disappointed. There is an AWESOME Mexican Restaurant about 20 minutes away called Su Casa Mexican Cafe where the food was authentic and the prices were very, very reasonable. I recommend that restaurant 20 times over this one.
