Carmel offers a buffet that is pretty good. It seems like most places don't do the buffet thing anymore, so eating at Carmel's buffet was a treat. The service was excellent as well, we had an attentive and friendly server. Is the Carmel perfect? I don't think so. But you can't go wrong if you choose to have dinner here.

This used to be an amazing gem of a Restraunt. It was the place to go for home cooking with generous portions that tasted flavourful. Since the new owners took over a few years ago its been a slow decline. The food over the years has become bland and tasteless. The Sunday brunch Buffet has become Boone and in need some changing up! My last visit I ordered the veal cutlets. The cutlets were so greasy and Bland. The mashed potatoes seem like they were boiled earlier in the day then reheated with a microwave. The vegetables we're basically Frozen mixed vegetables that were so over boiled they were mush. The one bright spot is there a server who was very friendly and quite prompt. It is sad because this used to be one of my favorite restaurants to go and was the best spot in town to go for home cooking. Even their menu has changed and a lot home cooked type entrees have been removed. Having being replaced buy some Greek features.

Good food with old furnishings. Don't go to Sunday brunch after 12:30 because the food variety has diminished! I wasn't going to have the roast beef because it looked dry and overdone but I was surprised it was still tender and moist!

Always get a good amount of food for a good price. Best calamari in town too!

Review for restaurant. Not hotel. Although busy and many people attend, the buffet is very much the usual fare. They do have a prime and lots of selection but the majority of the offerings are standard at most other cheaper buffets. Desserts are costco-like selections. Atmosphere and seating shows its age and service was ok. Location can be good for central access from the hwy 97/16 junction area.
