Service was hit or miss. Food is just as other Tropika locations and very similar to Banana Leaf. Price is somewhat high, again similar to the mentioned restaurants but at least the portions are generous.

Food is great. Not sure what original Malaysian style is, bcz I have never been there. However, I guess this is it. Seafood soup for lunch, was very sour and hot, but with its aroma flavors, I was totally able to tolerate it. Actually I was very enjoying the seafood soup. The meat-bone pot soup also excellent, I could tast sweet in it but nothing special could be seen inside. The cook must prepare the soup with many kinds of herbs for a long time before cooking it into a lunch pot. I think we will visit the restaurant again.

Tropical was excellent as usual. We ordered the roti canai, sambal prawns and sambal clams, seafood noodles and coconut rice. The dishes were brought very quickly and servers were quick to fill water and tea and to provide fresh plates and knapkins. My sister-in-law found the squid in the noodles a tad rubbery and the rendang lamb a little spicy for her taste but thoroughly enjoyed it. The sambal munchies green beans is a must try. While a bit on the expensive side portions a really good and we had enough for lunch the next day! Totally worth it!

I'm from Toronto and my family from B.C recommended eating here. We were a party of 9 and got amazing service. They were very attentive and the food was amazing! Loved the lamb curry and the stewed brisket in wine sauce. And their Roti was delicious! I would definitely come back here upon my next visit to B.C

Food was excellent and reasonably priced, but the tall Chinese waiters (I am Chinese myself) was so insolent I almost walked out before ordering. The ambience was good but some of the furniture and fixture badly needed attention.
