Great food. Huge pies. All you can eat fish and chips.

Have eaten there many times but this time my order of fish and chips was disappointing. My 2 pieces of fish was so small it wasn't even the size of 1 piece of fish. Sad to see a good restaurant go down hill.

In today’s day and age to not have Wifi for your costumers doesn’t work. Unfortunately the food isn’t up to small town cafe standards. The server was pleasant.

My GF and I arrived at the Cafe at 1040 am this Sunday, we were promptly seated and then given our drinks had our order taken and then we waited......we waited some more.....half hour later still waiting....people who came in 10 - 15 mins after us got their food and we are ...guess what? still waiting. I asked after 50 mins, " Whats going on with our food? its been nearly an hour!" the server said she would look into it . 10 mins later they are looking at the computer and wondering who took the order, (the server who took our order was the one who didnt seem to remember who took it.) they asked at the kitchen and then came back to our table (now 70 mins in the cafe) she asked what did we order and then went to resubmit the order. I told her that we were leaving and not to bother. We were on our way for a nice Sunday drive up the coast and they certainly screwed up our morning part of it. Mom's Cafe used to be a pretty good place and my GF had never been there and I was going to treat her. Waste of time.

The all you can eat Fish and Chips were excellent. Lovely light batter coated large portions, not greasy. Tastie coleslaw. Great service. Only negative would be the old lady is looking tired. Bench seat cushions are taped where worn. We like the 50s theme but the whole place needs updated. A Complete gut and rebuild. Maybe enlarge onto the adjoining lot, outdoor patio, with fireplace. Hoping the new buyers would consider that. Otherwise Mom's will go the way of the DooDoo Bird. Commercial/condo complex will rise. Too bad this 50s concept cannot be built on land that looks over the water, cottage brewery. Why Sooke does not have anything like this is a surprise. Thanks for nice meal Moms.
