“Now aloft by the side of Zeus the gods sat in council, conferring across Olympus’ golden floor as noble Hebe poured them rounds of nectar.” Alas, this is what greets one when they arrive at Millos. Come bring your friends and sit like Zeus, god of thunder, and dine on delicious Moussaka and bites of fresh-made pita doused in golden humus. Do not fret my friends, this is no ordinary dining experience. No, this night, you will dine with live entertainment in the fine form of Mira and her gyrating hips and flowing scarves. And when you are done feasting on the perfectly fried calamari and tender meats, you will stretch your legs under the table, fold your arms in your lap, and reflect on the bliss that only a perfect night out can deliver. “And so the Trojans buried Hector breaker of horses”

Milos has been an institution in Victoria for many years, but as late had been getting pretty tired. We heard that there was a new manager / chef, so thought we'd give it a try. I must say it is much improved - the food was excellent and the service is top notch. The new chef told us that he came from Greece five months ago and that the food is authentic Greek. It was quite salty for my taste, but otherwise very enjoyable. We can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu UPDATE: We returned to try one of the Greek platters we saw on the menu. We had the Millos Platter, which had three delicious dips with pita, a Greek Salad, Calamari, Moussaka, and a Souvlaki and Lamb Chip platter. It was all quite good, and very enjoyable - it was a lot of food for two, and we took some home. Other places have served the food all on one large platter, but Millos served it in courses, which meant everything was hot. We would have liked one more piece of pita for the dips, and found it strange that no serving utensils or dinner plates were provided (only the bread plates), but this didn't stop us from enjoying it all.

Terrific atmosphere and centrally located one block from the Empress hotel. Great menu with vegetarian options. The slow cooked braised Lamb is sure to delight any meat lover. The service is terrific. I always ask for Gloria, but the other servers are very attentive. The price is fair for the large portions one receives. This is a great spot for a special occasion or if you are looking to build fond memories of your visit to Victoria.

I do not enjoy reducing a rating, especially when I once would have given this long time favorite 4.5 stars. However the purpose of star ratings is for newcomers to make an educated evaluation. I wish I had photos, but if the evening we spent eating smaller than usual portions (one chicken souvlaki stick and a small scoop of rice for $22 - really?), and freezer burnt calamari turns into a regular custom, it won't be long before others will have photos to show their dissatisfaction. Now I will say, there was good friendly service and their roasted lamb shank is VERY tasty and tender, so this is not a complete fail. However in addition to the food issues the dated decor, and bathroom plumbing stink are serious problems to be addressed quickly because the tourist season is just around the corner.

This was my first time eating at Millos and it was fantastic! I am a vegetarian so I ordered the spinach feta potato bake which was delicious. Definitely recommend that wether you are veggie or not. After we paid, the chef came out to introduce himself and ask us how our food was. He is the new chef who has just moved from Greece. He thanked us for dinning here and offered us dessert on the house! I am so glad he did because IT WAS TO DIE FOR. I cannot remember what it was called but it was a sweet pastry type dessert. Absolutely amazing. Thank you chef at Millos!!!
