Went with a party of 6, was very pleased to get a last minute reservation. Our table ordered ~ 7-8 different dishes, each was just incredibly good. Solidly in the top 5 meals of my life. Everything was perfect. Service, atmosphere, food, price - kingyo really has a good thing going.

Best Japanese food I've had in a while! Very authentic, high quality and simply delicious. I had the tempura prawns (soft, crispy, beautifully cooked - heaven), nigahira sushi (👌) and the grilled pork (buttery, cooked perfectly and well spiced). I only wish I lived in this city because I want to go back time and time again! I found it amusing that the bathroom had mouthwash for customers. Cute little touch, as were the frozen grapes.

Amazing Japanese tapas! The Kobe on hot stone was something we really wanted try which ended up being delicious. I wouldn't say you'd be missing out if you didn't get that since other items on the menu that we tried were outstanding as well. The sea urchin seafood noodles were probably the most memorable. The sashimi we had was so fresh and bonus - they use wild salmon here!

Hands down my favourite restaurant in Vancouver right now. My partner and I love trying new places and it's awesome when we find gems like this place. Had the corn appetizer and that was like an orgasm in my mouth. Super tasty food, delicious drinks and the decor was very interesting. Definitely going to go there next time we're in Vancouver to try more of their dishes!

First of all, food is good. HOWEVER, really BAD customer services - That reception guy, tall and big, the only one in black uniform, non-Japanese - you are a shame of this famous restaurant! (I have been to Kingyo for many times and this is the first time I felt like I would never come back again) So, I made a reservation 4 days in advance and when we got there 10 mins earlier, I politely asked that reception guy if our table would be ready at 7. That guy was really impatient and told me 'Nothing in life is guaranteed' (literally what he said to me) Are you kidding me??? The purpose of making a reservation is to guarantee a table right? Plus, that is definitely not the okay attitude talking to a customer. 'Nothing in life is guaranteed' - Yes, your tips is not guaranteed, and I am pretty sure a job is not guaranteed for a person like you too!
