The buffet is always wonderful and by far the Barrie location is the best for friendly staff and maintenance. They are incredibly fast at clearly plates and refilling beverages. Their level of service rivals that of high class restaurants. The food on the other hand could use more flavour, but you’ll likely find there anyways because I seem to keep away from the lemon chicken. So the 3 stars is only for customer service. There is very little they can do about the wait.

I love The Mandarin in Barrie. I have been many times and each visit has been amazing. It is clean, has friendly staff, and has excellent management that clearly cares about the customer's experience. I love the buffet itself because everything is so good, and the variety is top notch. There is something for everyone there. I just wish it was cheaper.

Definitely not a big GTA Mandarin. The food selection was pretty small, but it was busy so everything was fairly fresh and hot. The decor wasn't that great, but it was clean. Staff was very quick to remove plates and fill water glasses. It certainly would not be my first choice of Mandarin restaurants, but my mother in law likes it, so I will probably return.

Compared to other mandarins, this location offers less oily food. They tend to bring fresh food more often. Also, they are very attentive and change the empty plates frequently. Even though, they have many quiet and nice servers, there are some that are extremely loud. My server, for some reason, did not offer the same treatment that she provided to other tables. For example, she did not mention the specials in the beginning or ask if we would like a hot beverage near the end, which she did ask all the other tables that she was appointed to. She talked to other guests and told them stories about herself, I assume to get familiar with them, but in a very loud voice. She didn't talk with us and I would have appreciated if she could tell us the difference in their menu that is being served during dinner compared to their lunch. My family did not give them trouble or ask for anything, so I don't know why she treated us that way. I should mention that this location is extremely busy, even during the weekdays. Also, finding a parking spot is very hard, almost impossible, and takes a lot of patience during the weekend, which has caused my family to turn away from this location a few times. Overall, I would recommend visiting this place during weekdays and hope you will not be served by my server.

Hard to fault this buffet. Attentive and polite staff, huge selection of salads, entrees, sushi rolls and desserts, all on the Asian and North American cultures. Sometimes very busy with long lines at the entrance. The table are closely spaced but still accessible for wheelchairs and car seats for infants. It is our choice for birthdays and entertaining.
