We sat at Barley Works portion of the hotel. It was great, really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The beer was tasty as well but did have one thing to mention. Originally, the plan was to sit in the basement at a different portion of the hotel, but the whole place was closed. It was unclear that the only open spot was upstairs. I'm sure they had the same fare, but clear signage would have been beneficial. We really enjoyed the food, tacos were fresh and the Buffalo chicken sandwich was quite enjoyable as well.

I have been coming here for wings for over 20 years. Yes, they're that good. Add in their own generous selection of micro-brew ales and lagers - my favourite is the black and tan. Service has always been friendly, and usually very attentive. It can get busy both downstairs at the brewpub, and upstairs on the patio in the summer - one of the best patios in kw! Another level for pool tables, and a cafe on the main floor. Whatever you're in the mood for!

Lovely historical setting with friendly staff & great service located in UpTown Waterloo. The unfamiliar with the site can get lost in the colorful maze of halls, stairs & rooms from the basement to the first floor. History is present all over the hotel from the main floor coffee shop & jazz room to the basement & first floor restaurants & meeting rooms. The jazz room with it's regular schedule of gigs & participation in the summer Waterloo Jazz Festival is the main attraction for the jazz aficionados. Waterloo & hotel's history & transformations are revealed through artifacts, historical articles & notes. The hotel takes pride in on site made food & craft beer.

Good pub food. Pool tables, pin ball machines, sports on tv. Brew their own beer and have others on tap. Fun to hang out with friends.

The place has a rustic feel to it inside and out. The atmosphere is great in the summer if you're having drinks on the patio. The menu and prices are good. Unfortunately, the last time I came here, I had a reservation book weeks in advance - My table was booked up and we were 10 mins early. They apologized and quickly found a solution by clearing off a table but we did have to wait about 15 mins.
