My family goes here for almost every special occasion. Food is absolutely delicious. Roast beef is to die for. Gravy is tops is my opinion. Staff are crazy friendly and you can tell they love the place and love working there. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality is sooo good. Also as I was reading the review from the genius who was upset that the Village requires all employees to have Safe Handling certificate.....it may not be a requirement by the City, but as a customer I certainly appreciate that it is a restaurant policy. I'm not surprised that even in this way the Village goes over and above. Keep it up !!!

We reserved the private room for our daughter's baptism. We were offered many options and services. The room looked great and has its own separate bathroom and entrance/exit. We comfortably seated 17 adults and 3 babies with plenty of space for strollers and other items. The food was fantastic; everyone left extremely happy and will be returning. Service was great and the owner took pride in her work. Thank you for making our day special.

Great place ,great environment great people. They always remember us when we go. Oh and great food. I recommend breakfast here. Any meal really but breakfast you can smell before you even walk in.

Quick and friendly service - our server went the extra mile to ensure that our party of five received enough appetizers for all of us to share. Reasonably priced for generous portions! The restaurant is clean and has plenty of parking in the back of the building. I would strongly recommend this venue to anyone!

So ahead of time, we came into the restaurant today actually looking to apply for a job, due to not getting response from multiple applications sent for an URGENT ad on Kijiji. Not rating the service or food, just rating based on the experience. During the resume hand in attempt, I was told, as I recently discovered was a blatant lie/misinformation in regards to needing Safe Food Handling to work as a SERVER or DISHWASHER: "All people in the restaurant need Food Handler Certification". Really?!? How's about this received from the Employment Hamilton Website: City of Hamilton By-Law No. 07-245 Respecting Mandatory Food Handler Certification Page 5 of 11 5. Every operator shall ensure that there is, at all times when their medium-risk food premises or high-risk food premises is operating, AT LEAST ONE certified food handler working at the premises who is supervising the preparation, processing, packaging, service or storage of food. 6. Every food handler, when working as the certified food handler supervising the preparation, processing, packaging, service or storage of food under section 5, shall produce for inspection his or her food handler certificate upon request by the Medical Officer of Health or an Officer. So in short, no, you don't need EVERYONE to have the certificate, just AT LEAST ONE at the restaurant at all times! Oh and next time when you think you know everything there is to know about the By-law, don't show your customers attitude and trying to show off ("do you want to see my certificate?" the answer, by the way, was no to that question) when trying to prove yourself right, because it's not pleasant at all and doesn't give a good image of your restaurant.
