Really nice food. We were impressed. We were there in the middle of winter in a town that felt like the north pole and the place was hopping, had to wait for seating. A little pricey but overall nice spot.

We only this past month visited the place. Have been there thrice already. Well laid out, well lit, nicely furnished. Food is quite good and interesting non-alcoholic drinks (also extensive alcohol listings). Quite possible one of the most perfect (restaurant) coffees I've tasted. The waitresses were quite attentive and, dare I say, delightfully engaging. Do not get discouraged if the small adjoining parking lot is filled, the restaurant is deceptively large and you can park on the street across from it. Class meets Comfort. PS: Some interesting photos grace the walls depicting some of Callander's history.

This is a conflicted review. The food is damn great, but the few times I had been there, they forget my drink order, or bring the wrong drink. Last time, I ordered a cheese plate (to come as an app), and they delivered it after the main course. Not sure if its just new staff or they are just too busy. Its a shame, because the food is great, the atmosphere is great, and the staff are friendly. I will eat there again soon, and hopefully revise my # of stars.

My husband, sister and brother and law visited 1886 Lake House for lunch this xmas eve. It's a cozy place with fresh and inviting decor and a relaxed vibe. The menu is a good size, but not overwhelming. Our server was the perfect mix of friendly without being clingy. I had a burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were nice and crispy but the burger was the star of the show. It was juicy and flavorful with an amazing brioche bun. Everyone else loved their food as well. Plus, the prices were fantastic (two entrees + 1 beer was only $35). I would go back in a heartbeat.
