Had lunch with a friend, here. Staff was very friendly, service was quick, though there were not a lot of people, so one would hope so. Filled up as we were eating. I suppose we beat the rush. A wide range of goods on the menu, but add it was my first time, I had to try the fish and chips. Bayer wasn't too thick, the flavor of the fish came through nicely. Not a crispy batter, so if that's your preference, you are aware. Great fries, too. Enjoyed it with a local beer, which is always a good way to go. Would certainly come back again.

Small little place that I stopped at with a supplier for a lunchtime meeting during the week. Traditional pub design was quaint, and there is not a lot of seating, but it wasn't that busy so we were able to get seated right away. Service was good, and we enjoyed a traditional English fare of fish and chips, and a meat pie. Both were very good, and the pricing was reasonable. Music was kept at a reasonable level so talking was easy while there. Would definitely come again.

😕 Usually I am satisfied when I eat there but yesterday I was not impressed the Galway salad I ordered had a rubber band in the salad with extra rubbing hanging around. I swear it almost looked like a cut up condom top piece. It was disgusting as I almost swallowed it. It was chewy. Yuk. They did replace and gave me a new salad but I was really uncomfortable eating there. The only reason I did not leave is because I had company and did not want to make a scene. Please be very careful what you order.

I was exploring Carleton Place and asked the locals where to eat on a Sunday. Every one of them listed 'the pub' as the place to go. So, here I went! The front patio was open on an early spring day. The sun was super warm. They open their back patio (which was recommended to check out by the locals) on June 1st. Surprisingly, you can fit a lot of people in the pub! Nearly 40 on the back patio, 35ish inside and another 8 or 10 on the front patio. Beers - smattering of local and domestic. Good choices. I opted for the smokey crispy burger. It has smokey bbq sauce and some deep fried onions plus more fixings. It was good! Portions are healthy (or unhealthy ;). The nachos appeared to be popular. I might have to try them next time! Nice place, recommended. Wheel chair access: front patio only. One small step into the restaurant. Access to rear patio is 4 steps unless you roll through the front door!
