Decor is just unbelievable. It is one of the oldest restaurants in London. Service was sensational and food exquisite. Restaurant was full at midday on weekday! That says it all.

Traditional food with a home-cooked feel. Worth visiting once to see the dining room featured in Downton Abbey, though there is fancier food available in other restaurants at this price point.

Lots of character. Good cocktail bar upstairs. The food was fine but not amazing.

Food excellent, service thinks it is excellent but actually isn't - handing v hot plates to diners not good idea; adding slimline mixer to gin while hiding label not great; topping up diner's glass who'd already indicated they want no more wine not great either. All in all, formal service fine- but not as cover for thoughtlessness. And of course £££s.

Elegant dinning, Old English meals like pheasant and steak and kidney pudding. Oldest restaurant in London, very majestic setting. Would return.
