I have seen some debate going in other commentaries and that is wonderful. An iconic institution can not be the same for 30 years or longer. Sir Alex had to go, and who is going to be better than him? What you will experience is an eclectic crowd, and the buzz of the Ivy is truly remarkable. It is worth every minute. Acoustics of the place are exceptional. If you take text book dishes like green pea soup or haddock, the experience will be totally great. As you will see in my other posts, I rarely write adverse commentary, well, it is what you give out that will receive. Restaurants critics will debate this! What I would perhaps agree with, is that having old friends amongst waiting staff and not seeing them is something that the Ivy could improve on.

The service was great, I recommend booking online beforehand as it can get very crowded during lunch and dinner. The food was top notch; the gnocchi and risotto starters were incredible as was the Bang Bang Chicken. There are many seafood dishes which is a big plus for me. The only disappointing dish was the pork which was a little too dry for my liking though the sauce was tasty. We were too full to try the desserts but they had some excellent choices for all tatses. The drinks were great too, I recommend the Ivy spiced rum and coke.

If you love the feeling of being somewhere nostalgic with a high standard of service what you pay for, you will receive. The menu has good old fashioned classics and fusion food. The staff makes you feel completely as ease, a wonderful dining experience.

Had a decent ribeye steak, the menu is very good. Good selection of wines and cocktails. Great desserts. Nice atmosphere. Only complaint would be that the toilets are located downstairs and are quite tight.

I called several weeks in advance to book a table on a Thursday night and was offered only a table at 5:30pm.. Anyway, I took the reservation as it was for a special occasion with my sister. Although the menu is creative, I didn’t find the food particularly amazing in relation to the very expensive prices. We were sitting all evening near a very arrogant man that complained about every single thing (I appreciate this isn’t really something the restaurant can be responsible for), Overall the experience was good but not sure if worth the hefty price tag. + Iconic VIP location and opulent ambience - Price level too high for the food/drinks standards
