Really good food, but kind of a weird vibe. Doesn't feel quite as classy as the pictures make it look. Maybe because the indoor space is so large it has a sort of convention center feel, and the staff dress code doesn't help. Also there's too much staff with different jobs that actually makes the service worse. Everyone is too focused on their one responsibility instead of helping each other out to make sure no one thing is understaffed. Lots of potential due to the quality of the food, but the atmosphere could use a bit of freshening up.

Views overlooking the Thames and the South Bank but that’s not all. Food at Skylon is very good. Service is also friendly and efficient. Worth a visit for comfort food. I do however, agree with the comment that It has a kind of a weird vibe. Doesn't feel quite as classy as the pictures make it look. Disappointing afternoon tea. The food itself was five star; location and view were great. But the service was oh so slow: we had to ask four times for milk for the tea, three times for more tea, twice for the sparkling wine ... What a shame. Should have been five stars. Shan't go again.

The beetroot and goats cheese starter was a knockout, elevating beetroot to a whole new level. The broccoli, Parmesan and almond pie was a similarly new take on familiar ingredients. Desserts were sweet and the little plate of macaroons and truffles finished off our lunch perfectly. Not forgetting the 'happy birthday' extra.

Fantastic as always. The food is always amazing, and the service efficient, friendly and highly attentive. Please bring back the purée spinach side, it was so good!
