Searched for 'Best Bloody Mary', in the West End of London and this unusually named establishment popped up. As you walk in, you may notice the door mat which reads 'Abandon All Plans'. As it was around 2pm on a Sunday, what choice was there? We were given a cosy seat by the front window on to Old Compton st. We ordered the aforementioned Bloody Mary's. They were bloody good. A large all day breakfast ensued with convivial atmosphere and splendid people watching from our respective perches. Staff were great and very pleasant. Food was very well presented and tasty. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

This is the original Balans and quite unlike the others that have appeared around London recently. They do really good food, are competitively priced and open 24 hours (it may actually be 23 these days. I was there a while ago and they closed something like 5 am to 6 am). Their license means that you have to eat something, but you can just have a starter and a few drinks. Used to be "very gay" and is still very gay friendly, but just as welcoming to everyone.

Great breakfast menu and range. The staff were friendly and the vibe is cool. Not the cheapest of places, but I’d 100% go back there!

Great atmosphere, sophisticated, classic, great food, excellent service, friendly clientèle. I could go on and on and on, but you ger the picture. I recommend a reservation, even on week nights, the queue can be 15-30 minutes long. I also recommend the porn star cocktail, if you like passion fruit, then you'll love it! I'd give it 6 stars if possible.
