It is a beautiful spot with a fantastic upstairs dance floor.

Writing as a person using baldachin for a conference not a hotel room. Do not rely on the elevator to bring you or your equipment up. Prepare to haul your things up three or four flights. The main ballroom is very warm in the summer and pretty chilly in the winter. Otherwise a beautiful heritage-esque building

The location and building itself were amazing. Beautifully set up, incredible interior charm... The catering and wedding coordinator that was there was the total opposite. Uncooked and cold food was served, some portions of the meal didn't even arrive. When the coordinator brought out a soup, that tastes like watered down tomato sauce, I could smell the cigarette smoke on her. You do you ma'am, however remember that you are serving a formal event. At one point a dishwasher pulled up a chair next to the dessert table and watched dances and speeches. The mother of the bride and brother of the bride were restocking the bar..... Completely unacceptable.

We stopped in today to the Bar and Grill for lunch......we should have grabbed a hotdog from the street vendor, it would have been better. Save your money and go somewhere else!!!!! It was busy in Merrickville as it was the Santa Claus Parade and Street Event.....so you would assume the restaurant would have had enough staff, considering this event was NOT a surprise. We sat ourselves as we were told too, waited 15 minutes before a waitress even acknowledged us. We placed our drink and food order together as we knew things were going to take a while. 45 minutes later we FINALLY get our food. Oh at this point I should also stated 2 tables that came in after us had already been given their drinks and served their meals. I asked for a small plate so my grandson could have something to eat off of other than the table cloth, well that took another 5 minutes, and my grandson is starving so he trying to reach for food off our plates. The food was hot but DISGUSTING!!!!! We didn't even get a bill, we were told to go to the bar and give our table number. I'm second in line to pay, however the young girl is helping everyone else but me. I stood waiting for 10 minutes. When it is finally just me at the cash, she turns around and starts stapling receipts. I raised my voice, gave my table number, stated I wanted to pay....only then did she acknowledge me. As for the time spent waiting...just so everyone is aware...we timed it!!!!!! I will NEVER eat there again and I will be recommending that know one else does either. For a charming location they could have a successful spot however we were not the only ones leaving that were disgusted.
