The Port has been my wife's and I go to restaurant for several years now. We dine there no less than twice a month and have celebrated New Years, Valentine's Day and several birthdays there. The menus is simple, but on point as is the wine selection. The bar setup is by far the best in all of Durham! Service is always attentive, but not overly attentive. The Port "gets it" when it come the service, ambiance and quality of food. My only comment would be recently management has been making several tweaks; especially to their menu offering, which I feel is starting to distract from The Port's reasons for success. Keep in mind people want simple comfort food at affordable prices. On another note, The Port on several occasions has started to close the restaurant to cater to a private parties. This I find ignores the core customers who most like traveled some distance just to find The Port closed (unless you're a banquet hall you should never close for a private party).

Nice atmosphere. I had the lamb which was cooked nicely. Their oyster plate is also very good. Nice presentation, chilled on ice, served with a selection of different sauces. The veggies included with the lamb was marinated and cooked exceptionally. The selection of drinks is also very good. The staff is friendly and professional. Recommended for anyone looking for good food and a nice atmosphere.

Good food - very select menu; wonderful customer service (!) and great atmosphere.: view of marina.; makes for a relaxing evening. Would like to see more vegetarian/vegan options for returning customers. :)
