Good food, and a pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff, and timely service. Not the cheapest place in town, but a great spot for casual dining. Portions were plentiful but not outrageous, and both the chef's special (swordfish) and pie of the day (chocolate pecan) were tasty, well prepared and interestingly served.

Had dinner here for the first time recently. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were very friendly, but I found it odd that there was no vegetable on our dinner plates. I don't think I have ever been served a dinner without a vegetable. I had the salmon that was served on a bed of lentils. It was ok, but the meal was lacking a vegetable. My son is a vegetarian and there was not much for him to eat. He had Risotto and he said he was disappointed. We had a cauliflower appetizer that was very good. I guess I should have ordered a salad.

Went here for lunch. Service was good, but the food was very poor. Charcuterie board was pretty mediocre for the price, with Chutney from a jar (better for a cheese board?). Had two of the salads - both had way too much dressing and had over bearing flavours. Trying to be nouveau cuisine without the skills. Maybe should have got the burger? Would not recommend.

The location, decor, and building are all super cool. Specifically the attention to detail in the interior style in particular was very impressive. The service was okay, though not very attentive. The lentils were amazingly good. The jalapeno ceaser salad was less impressive, not spicy at all. Overall I look forward to coming back.

Booked for 7 folk. Good atmosphere. Good recipe. Two arrived 10 min later but the waitress did not offer a drink. First issue was that one of the group who had ordered the burger and fries received cool fries, he had finished the burger by the time the fries arrived, no salt or pepper on the table, more wait. Next another guest asked for Parmesan cheese but finished his pasta before it arrived. Finally they put on a 20% tip for groups of more than 6, if I had known that I wouldn't have booked. Food was 7 out of 10, service was 3 out of 10. We all agreed that our next meeting wont be at the Carlyle.
