This is a popular place with long line up. Interior looks nice and space looks clean. I think their food tasted alright, but it is definitely on the oilier and saltier side. So for people who prefer to have a healthier dining experience, you may want to consider elsewhere or let the staffs know your dietary preference. Also, they only accept HARD cash. We have to watch out how much we order, because we didn't bring that much cash with us on that day.

I've been coming here for over 10 years now (remembering back when they were a smaller restaurant), and it's always been a favorite of mine. They serve authentic Malaysian cuisine, while also serving Singaporean, Indonesian, and Thai dishes as well. The menu has a lot of variety: different types of curry (meat or vegetarian), freshly made traditional rotis (my Malaysian fave), meat, seafood, vegetarian, as well as delicious noodle and rice dishes that are familiar to Malaysians and the South East Asia region! They also have specialty drinks, soups, and deserts (a must try)! It's not going to be the cheapest place you can find and the portions are not super-sized either. But you are definitely paying for higher quality, especially when compared to the majority of Asian eateries, which is always the most apparent when you try dishes with meat. Their fried noodle dishes are also less oily than other Asian restaurants as well, and they do not use MSG. You get what you pay for, and for higher quality & authenticity, the prices are very reasonable and worth it! The wait staff is friendly and courteous, as well as being attentive. They also take the time to ask us about any food allergies or dietary restrictions. One thing to note is that they only accept cash. Restoran Malaysia is a nice little gem in Richmond Hill, and a must try if you've never been there!

When eating in the food comes out fast and fresh. It's very tasty and we'll made. Portions used to be small but have become better. This place is cash only so be aware when going.

Serving size is really tiny, overpriced and we needed 8 dishes and 2 appetizers for 6 people! The basil dishes only meant that they put two attached basil leaves on top as garnish. The angel fire beef was bitter and inedible. Service was mediocre - you ask for the bill, they clean up the table. You order another dish, they don't take the order. Furthermore, you have to be suspicious when there is a Buddha up front where they ask you for donations if you rub it. It does not say where the donations would go and many $5 bills inside .... hmmm. CASH ONLY, NOT EVEN DEBIT CARDS .... makes you wonder.

Love this place! I always get the pineapple fried rice when I come (they have a smaller lunch version for cheaper too), and it never disappoints. I’ve seen it real busy during dinner time but recently I went for lunch and there was no wait and plenty of empty tables. Highly recommend this place for all. Great for dates of family or large groups. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation if planning on visiting during dinner tho.
