Higher quality menu with prices to match makes this an excellent dinning location. Exceptional steaks cooked the way you order and a staff that is attentive to all of your dinning requirements especially if you require specific dietary needs. Great ambiance for that special meal eith a special person. You will not leave hungry having a great satisfy meal with a well round menu to choose from. Highly recommend this restaurant for all your special occasion.

The food is always delicious with good portion sizes. I feel like the staff really care about your experience, more so than the average restaurant! :) My meal was taking longer than usual but someone came to check in on us and apologize for the wait.

Lunch is about $20-25 dollars. It's the kind of place with a short menu but done well. Portions are reasonable and the food is fresh and tasty. Staff is professional, polite and friendly. The wood fireplace is beautiful light and very enjoyable on a cold day. Quiet ambenos and comfortable chairs made lunch a pleasure.

Out waiter was fantastic - frequently checked to see if we needed anything, and when he learned it was my mom's birthday he brought out a special dessert platter for her. Atmosphere was great, and so was the food. Wonderful experience overall.

Staff needs some lessons in customer service. We arrived as a group of six, five adults and a four year old. We ordered drinks outside, a bottle of wine and few cocktails. Once the bottle of wine arrived, it was left up to the table to top up our own glasses as the dinner went on. With the sun setting we decided to move inside due to the drop in temperature. We asked that our drinks be brought inside. Staff brought drinks in on a tray and abandoned the tray at the end of our table, saying “I’m not sure whose are whose” and walked away. When it came time to review the menu, we were less then excited about the options. This is predominately meat and potatoes menu and it lacked any flare. The most intriguing thing was the special which was a very tender pork belly served on a bed of roman noodles (once it arrived this was a very tasty dish). The trouble really came with the speed and follow up of the orders put in. We ordered two more cocktails when we were inside, then we waited and waited. Finally I saw our server at the water station and asked “how our drinks were coming”, she replied “oh they’ll just be a minute”. Again we waited and waited, finally I got up and approached the bar looking for the drinks we had ordered 15 minutes ago. The bar tender informed me the drinks had been made and they gestured toward where they sat on the bar waiting to be delivered by our server. I went and sat back down, and a minute or two later they finally arrived at our table. When it came to our entree order, the service was very similar, except this time the dishes arrived with attitude. We had finished our appetizers and plates had been cleared. We waited patiently, mind you with a four year old, who was a beginning to display the attributes of our hunger struggles, waiting for our entrées to arrive. We had put in our order about 50 minutes ago at this point, and the hunger pains were real. I inquired with our server “how is our food coming”, again we received “oh it should just be a minute”. Another ten minutes passed, and I again decided to leave the table and follow up with our server. I was waiting near the kitchen to get our servers attention, as she was having a conversation with the kitchen staff. I saw what looked to be a manager in the bar area. I said, “I am just checking on our food order”, and in a less than understanding tone she replied, “Your food is on its way”, I replied “yes, I know, but it has been some time”, and she replied “your food is coming”, I replied “I understand but it has been some time, and we have a child waiting”. She then proceeds to tell me that they are busy. Now this is Monday evening, so with surprised eyes I gazed at the restaurant as she looks around, at max, 25% of the seats were taken. She replied “we are busy with party rooms in the basement”. I proceed to sit back down and wait. Now I have a clear view of the kitchen from my seat and see the manager speaking with a few Kitchener staff in what looks like a scramble to pull our order together. A few minutes later the manager appears at our table and proceeds to defend the tardy service with a stern quip, “JUST SO YOU KNOW, THE STEAK TAKES 22 MINUTES TO COOK!” and quickly leaves. Five minutes later our food does finally arrive, along with the single fillet mignon, one guest ordered that seem to be bogging down the kitchen. No attempt from any level of staff was made to smooth the situation over with a reasonable less hostel explanation. The defensive attitude taken shook the whole table with surprise. We are a pretty positive understanding bunch, and poor reviews are not our style. We would much rather embrace the outstanding services we receive in our community (check our other reviews), but when faced with this horrendous mind boggling level of service, we feel it necessary to report. If only to help the proprietor implement some customer service and etiquette training.
