This is one of my favourite places in the area and it's the only decent 24 hour restaurant off the island. It's actually really good. It also is the line of demarcation between Quebec golden fries for poutine and Montreal brown fries. Their potatoes are great and the choux in poutine is their specialty.

Nic et Pic is a staple of Saint Jean restaurants. Not only has it been around forever, its serves a vast variety of almost anything you could think of eating at home with the family. It has a very real 50's diner feel to it, with regulars and all. It also must be one of the only diners in all of the country to never close. It is open 24 hrs a day to serve you almost anything you might want. Even if its breakfast at midnight. This place is absolutely awesome. 5/5

Good good. Fair prices

During my short stay in SJSR I must've gone to Nic et Pic for half of those weekends for breakfast. Their poutine is freakin' scrumptious, and while the service can be slow, it's mostly because the place is filled with single diners, business colleagues, families, retirees...everyone is here grabbing some affordable food with hearty portions. The waitresses are very kind and hardworking, and even though we were clearly from out of town a couple of them started memorizing our favourite orders. The creme brulee cheesecake is also delish — I wonder what the pies and cakes were like! Will return. :D
